This will be my final edition of Tuesday on the Run. It’s hard to believe I’ve been writing these weekly since October of 2009. I can only hope you have enjoyed reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
Several people have asked me why I don’t put them into some kind of 365-day devotional books. (Maybe this would be a good project for my retirement.) My only answer at this point is to say, “we’ll see.” It sounds like a lot of work. I have also given some thought to writing a weekly devotional blog. that would have a slightly different format. If I decide to do something like that after I catch up on all the projects Rosemary has lined up for me, I will be sure to let you know.
Again, thanks for reading and for all the kind words of support. My goal has always been to make you think and to give you a word of encouragement in the midst of your busy week. So here is my word of encouragement for today. It comes from one of my favorite passages in Hebrews 12. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12: 1-3)
Keep running the race until Jesus comes or calls us home!
Have a great week!
REMINDER: We are having our Local Church Conference this Sunday after a brief lunch. Please bring a dish or two and join us for a potluck meal. All members should plan to be present, but anyone is welcome to attend.
