                                                “Craig”
A good friend recently told me that I needed to listen to a country song by an artist called Walker Hayes called “Craig”.  It took me a while to find, but when I found it I was profoundly moved by the message.  (Here is a link to the audio version). [https:WWW.youtube.com/watch v=DaOg7a7tPN8 or type in Walker Hayes, Craig]

The song is basically about a guy named Craig from the Church of Redeeming Grace.  The guy writing the song hasn’t quite figured out church and Christianity, but he is impressed by Craig’s non-judgmental attitude.  I’ll let you listen to the song yourself to hear how Craig tangibly demonstrates the love of Christ.  [I recently learned that the song is based on real life events in the  life of Walker Hayes and that Craig is a real person.]

The author of the song describes Craig this way:
“He can’t walk on water or turn it Napa Valley Red,
but he just might be tight with a man that did.
Yeah, he’s not the light of the world, but I wish that mine was as bright as his
Yeah, he might just be tight with a man that is.

I’m reminded of what was said of the apostles by the Sanhedrin in (Acts 4:13) “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

I wonder when people look at our lives, is it obvious that we’ve been with Jesus?  Like Craig, is there evidence that we might be “tight” with the Son of God.  That should be one of our goals for the coming year – to reflect the light of Jesus to a darkened, hurting world.  How can you demonstrate Christ’s love to someone today!

Have a great week!
