Little Things

                                           LITTLE THINGS
When faced with the problem of feeding scores of hungry people, the disciple Andrew was skeptical about the usefulness of a little boy’s lunch.  He says to Jesus, “What are these (5 barley loaves and 2 small fish) among so many?” (John 6:9 (NKJV).   Yet, in the hands of Jesus thousands were fed with 12 basketfuls left over.  The next time you begin to wonder if what you’re doing really matters remember that “little is much when God is involved.”

I love the story of Edward Kimball, a Sunday School Teacher in Boston who was concerned about one of his students.  He worked as a shoe clerk at a local department store and Mr. Kimble found him in the back room wrapping shoes in paper and putting them on shelves.  There in that stock room, he led his student, Dwight L. Moody to Christ.  Moody eventually became the most effective evangelist of his day.  On a trip to England he awakened the evangelistic zeal of a small church pastor named, Frederick Meyer.

F. B. Meyer, preaching on an American college campus, brought to Christ a student named J. Wilbur Chapman.  Chapman engaged in YMCA work, employed a former baseball player Billy Sunday, to do evangelistic work.

Sunday held a revival in Charlotte, North Carolina.  A group of local men were so enthusiastic afterward that they planned another campaign, bringing Mordecai Hamm to town to preach.
In the revival a young man named Billy Graham heard the gospel and yielded his life to Christ.
Graham has preached to millions over the course of his lifetime and his ministry continues through his children and grandchildren.  What a legacy!

My point is that God can do great things with anything we give Him regardless of how small.  Our job is to be faithful and leave the results to Him.

Have a great week!
